Quality control by IYOSUI

IYOSUI Quality Control Process

IYOSUI runs a quality control system that ensures the quality and safety of food according to the following stages: Environment, Seedlings, Feed, Farm management, Landing fish, Transport, Storage, Processing, and Sales. Through each of these steps, we pay attention to the details in order to keep our product as best-quality as possible. Our essential roles in order to keep the best quality include:

  • inspection of water quality as well as substratum used in the fish farms
  • selection of the seedlings
  • inspection of the feed
  • inspection of parasites and diseases as well as medication
  • maintenance of fish net
  • creation of the inspection history
  • Inspection by the third party depending on the case

Similarly our management is handled strictly in accordance with the laws for management during the transportation, at the factories, and for importing and exporting. Especially when it comes to moistened pellets, we produce and process the materials in our factory that we purchased under the inspection of our own employees in order to provide the safe and high quality feed.

Regardless of whether within Japan or abroad, the structure we adopt remains consistent which makes it possible to cultivate fish into high quality product to be shipped safely. We are making efforts to improve the quality at all production facilities on daily basis.

Quality Control for overseas supply

Our quality control process also applies to the overseas supply of fishery products as well. We purchase the products on the site, having our staff actually inspect the condition and background of the products carefully. And if necessary, we even have a third party organization run a sanitary inspection to ensure the safety of the products thoroughly.

Traceability

Traceability is the condition in which the distribution channels of products can be traced from the manufacturing stage to the final consumption stage or disposal stage. To provide safe and high quality farmed fish, we make sure to record their background such as how and in what kind of environment they were cultivated and match the record with the product’s information. We aim to establish a relationship where the information of farmers is visible to the consumers by providing the information demanded by customers as well as what we want to convey in order to ensure the safety and security of food products. We manage and keep the following fields to be considered and recorded in our product history regarding farming fish.

HACCP(Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point)

Along with the completion of our new processing factory, we are working towards adopting HACCP
We adopt HACCP which is a method used for hygiene control to continuously monitor and record the key elements in order to prevent hazardous occurrence at any point during the entire process of the products from receiving the materials to manufacturing, and shipping the products. We have been recognized by Japanese Fisheries Association in working on HACCP plan and manage it accordingly to continue to actively engage in operating HACCP under more strict and transparent structure.

What is HACCP?
HACCP is composed of two processes: Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point. Hazard Analysis is a process to identify the potentially hazardous factors to the customers from sanitary view point. We will be able to provide the products at higher sanitary standards by implementing HACCP properly.
